SANY Fuel Filter,60208878,60208879.
Description

Product Overview

Fuel is the one thing every diesel crane on site gets through by the drum, and the fuel filter is what stands between that fuel and the injection pump. This replacement diesel fuel filter is referenced 60208878 and 60208879 and is supplied new, boxed and ready to fit SANY crawler cranes and other diesel-powered machines on construction, quarrying and port work.

Where it sits in the fuel path. Diesel leaves the tank, passes the water separator, then the filter, then the injection pump and injectors. The filter stops the fine grit, rust scale and sediment that collects in drums, site tanks and fuel left standing for months — particles small enough to pass a funnel and hard enough to wear a pump. Crawler crane parts like this filter are treated as service items rather than repair parts: inexpensive, quick to change, and worth changing before they are due rather than after.

Who buys it. Fleet maintenance teams keeping a service schedule, independent workshops rebuilding a crane engine, and contractors who want a spare on the shelf before a machine stops. Most order one or two to go with the rest of the service kit — the way heavy equipment spare parts are normally held by a fleet working away from a depot.

What it replaces. The SANY fuel filter on the machine now, removed at the normal service point or earlier if the fuel has been contaminated. It is a straight replacement part: same housing, same sealing face, same job.

Key Features

  • The reference is marked on the filter itself. The number is printed on the canister and repeated on the box, so it can be checked against the old unit before anything is fitted or thrown away.
  • It protects the expensive end of the fuel system. The injection pump and injectors sit downstream and are among the costliest crawler crane parts on the engine — this filter is the barrier in front of them.
  • Suited to the way sites actually refuel. Cranes are filled from drums, bowsers and yard tanks rather than sealed forecourt pumps, and the filter absorbs the difference.
  • A short job, so downtime stays short. It comes off and goes back on with hand tools, which keeps the work inside a normal service window instead of turning it into a workshop booking.
  • A routine crane maintenance parts line. Filters appear on nearly every service sheet, which makes them one of the easiest items to justify holding in stock.
  • Routinely ordered with SANY crane parts. Seals, belts, hydraulic filters and engine items are usually needed on the same visit, and they travel well together.
  • Shared across a working fleet. Machines of the same engine family commonly take the same filter, which simplifies stockholding when several cranes share one yard.

Reference & Model Matching

  1. Read the number off the old diesel fuel filter before you remove it. It is printed or stamped on the canister and often repeated on the box; write it down and take a photograph as a backup.
  2. Note the machine model and serial number from the plate on the crane. The same engine family can carry different filter heads across build years, and the plate settles which one you have.
  3. Photograph the old filter from two angles, including the sealing face and any markings on the housing.
  4. Send the model, the serial number, the numbers from the old unit and the photographs to your sales contact. If you have the parts book page, include that as well.
  5. We check the details against our SANY crane parts records, confirm which reference suits your machine, and tell you before anything is dispatched.
  6. Two references are quoted for this filter. If your parts book shows a third, send that too — on construction machinery spare parts of this age it usually means the number has been superseded, not that you have the wrong machine.
  7. If the filter is going to a workshop rather than the machine itself, say so. We can label the box with the machine number so it does not disappear into a shared crane maintenance parts store.

Filter Service Guidance

The filter is due at the interval your machine's maintenance schedule sets, but that schedule assumes clean fuel. In practice the filter tells you more about what is going into the tank than the calendar does.

Signs it is loading up. Hard starting after the machine has stood overnight, a stumble when the boom comes under load, a power loss that clears as soon as the engine is unloaded, and darker exhaust under load are the usual complaints. On a crane the first symptom is often simply that the engine will not pull full revs on a lift — a complaint that can send fitters looking at crane boom parts before the fuel system.

Signs the fuel is the problem. A filter that clogs well before its interval is pointing upstream: water in the separator bowl, a damaged tank cap, a drum left standing open, or growth in stored diesel. Changing the filter without chasing that will put you back in the same place within weeks.

After a contamination event. If the machine has taken on water or dirty fuel, change the filter rather than stretching it, and check the separator at the same time. Keep a short written record of changes and fuel sources — it makes a recurring problem obvious, and it keeps a construction machinery spare parts store from turning into a shelf of mystery boxes.

Change it before it strands you. A SANY fuel filter is among the cheapest parts on the machine and the one most likely to stop it at the worst moment, usually with a load in the air or a pour in progress. Most fleets treat one filter per machine as the minimum holding and replace the stock as each service comes round.

Fitment & Priming

  1. Park on firm level ground, shut the engine down and let it cool; put a drip tray under the filter head.
  2. Clean around the filter head before opening the system. Dust that falls into an open housing ends up downstream of the new filter.
  3. Unscrew the old filter and catch the fuel. Check that the old sealing ring came away with it — a ring left stuck to the head is behind a fair share of SANY crane parts call-backs.
  4. Wipe the sealing face clean and check the new ring is seated and undamaged. A light film of clean diesel on the ring helps it seat without dragging.
  5. Fit the filter by hand until the ring touches the head, then nip it up as your machine's manual specifies. As with any heavy equipment spare parts job, over-tightening causes more comebacks than under-tightening.
  6. Prime or bleed the fuel system the way the manual describes before cranking. Dry-cranking to pull fuel through is hard on the pump.
  7. Start the engine, let it idle, and check the head for weeping. Then run it under load and check again once it is warm.
  8. Dispose of the old filter and drained fuel according to site rules — diesel-soaked filter media is not general waste.

Ordering & Delivery

  • Order quantity. One piece is enough to start, and a filter can be added to anything else on the same service sheet.
  • Payment. T/T; Western Union or as agreed.
  • Lead time. Most parts in stock. Usually need 7-20 days, according to the quantity.
  • Shipping terms. EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF; shipped via Shanghai, Dalian, etc.
  • Packing. SANY filters travel individually boxed and wrapped; as with any heavy equipment spare parts order, larger consignments are palletised and film-wrapped, and heavy components are crated in plywood for export.
  • Warranty. 2500 Working Hours or One Year.
  • If something is wrong. Send photographs of the item, its label and the packing as it arrived. We check what happened and arrange the correct item with you.
  • One supplier for the whole service sheet. As crane parts suppliers we cover filters, hydraulic pumps and valves, electrical controls, undercarriage and engine parts — the crane maintenance parts needed for SANY, ZOOMLION, XCMG and FUWA machines, from FUWA QUY35 up to QUY1250.
  • Structural items too. Crane boom parts, hoist winches, counterweights, hooks and sheaves can be added when a machine comes in for more than a filter.

Sealing Ring & Seal Kits

  • The filter is supplied as the complete unit shown, with its sealing ring seated on the canister. Where your housing uses that arrangement, the ring comes with the filter and does not need to be ordered as a separate item.
  • Check the old filter before you order. If the ring came away on the canister, the new filter's ring replaces it. If the old ring stayed in a groove in the filter head, your housing uses a separate O-ring and that should be confirmed with us before dispatch.
  • A seal kit is the right answer when the old ring is hardened, flattened or cut, when diesel is weeping from the filter head, or when the sealing face is scored or pitted. A new filter ring will not correct a damaged housing, and fitting one over a bad face usually leads to a weep within a few days.
  • Send the machine model, serial number, filter reference and a photograph of the filter head with the old ring still in place. We check the housing style against our records and tell you whether the filter's own ring is enough or whether a separate O-ring or seal kit should go into the same box.
  • Do not reuse the old ring to save a small amount. A ring that has been compressed in service takes a set, and refitting it can seal for a day and then weep. A diesel weep is a mess, a slip hazard and a repeated call-back on crane spare parts that should have been a one-visit job.
  • If an O-ring or seal kit is needed, add it to the same order. It travels with the filter, avoids a second dispatch for a part worth a fraction of the freight, and one piece is enough to start. The same order can carry the rest of the service sheet.
  • Keep one ring or seal kit per machine alongside your SANY fuel filter. On a working fleet, a missing ring can hold up a service just as effectively as a missing filter, and the machine stays down until it is found.
  • Separate from the fuel filter, we also supply hydraulic seal and sleeve sets, including the SANY SRC550A2 references 10910589, 11263146 and 11262952. If a hydraulic component is being resealed at the same time, send those details with the filter order so the seals and the filter are matched to the same machine.

Technical Support & Model Matching

Not sure which part fits your machine? Send the part number, the machine model, and a photo of the nameplate or the worn item, and our engineers — each with more than ten years in the construction machinery business — will confirm the correct reference and quote it. We advise on installation, help trace faults, and answer technical questions before and after dispatch. Since 2017 we have built this support on a supplier network covering FUWA, SANY, XCMG and ZOOMLION, so older and hard-to-find references can usually still be sourced.

FAQ

The number on my old filter does not match the ones you list. What should I do?

Send us both numbers. References get superseded, and crane parts suppliers often list a filter under the number printed on the newest box while the crawler crane parts book still shows the original. We compare the two against the machine model and serial number before dispatch, so the filter that arrives is the one your engine was built around.

Is this filter new, or refurbished?

Every unit we send out is new. Nothing is stripped, cleaned and re-boxed, and there is no exchange scheme on fuel filters — they are a consumable rather than a rebuildable part, so once one has seen fuel it is finished. What arrives is unused, with dry, uncontaminated filter media and clean sealing faces and threads, still in its original packaging. That matters on a diesel engine: a filter that has been left open on a shelf, or one that has already been through a service, can carry grit straight through to the injection pump and injectors. When the box arrives, check the number on the canister against the one you took off the machine, and look for a clean, dry cartridge with no fuel staining or handling marks. If anything looks as though it has been opened or previously fitted, photograph it and contact us before installing it so we can put it right.

Does the filter come with the sealing ring?

The filter is supplied as the complete unit shown in the photographs. If your filter head uses a separate O-ring, or you would rather change the seal kit at the same time, tell us before the order is packed and we will confirm what is included and what else your housing needs.

What is the difference between this fuel filter and the water separator on the machine?

The separator sits ahead of the filter and takes out bulk water and larger debris; the filter then removes the fine particles that wear the pump and injectors. They work as a pair but are not substitutes for each other — if the separator bowl is carrying water, drain it before that water reaches the filter.

Do you supply other parts for these cranes?

Yes. Alongside fuel and hydraulic filters we supply hydraulic pumps, motors and valves, electrical items such as controllers, monitors and sensors, structural items including crane boom parts, hoist winches, hooks and sheaves, undercarriage components, engine parts, and repair and seal kits. SANY, ZOOMLION, XCMG and FUWA are all covered.

Can you supply filters for a mixed fleet of different crane brands?

Yes — the same construction machinery spare parts range covers ZOOMLION, XCMG and FUWA as well as SANY, including the FUWA QUY series from QUY35 to QUY1250. Send the machine list with your enquiry and we will match each one to its reference.
