Specifications & Wiring
| Property | Value |
|---|
| Series | Autonics E50S / E50SP |
| Model | E50S8-5000-3-T-1 |
| Housing | Black cylindrical body carrying a printed product label |
| Shaft | Solid shaft, fitted to the housing at the factory |
| Cable entry | Shielded lead held in a threaded gland on the body |
| Label reference | Model and lot number printed on the body, useful when matching the encoder you are removing |
| Mounting check | Confirm shaft fit and fixing method against the unit being replaced |
| Compatibility check | Machine brand, model and the label of the original encoder |
| Handling | Lift and fit by the body rather than the lead, and keep the cable clear of sharp edges |
| Packing | Boxed with the lead attached for workshop storage or dispatch |
Key Features
- Three channels in one body — A and B carry the counting pulses while Z delivers a single reference pulse per revolution, so position, direction and home position all come from the same encoder.
- Runs on 12 V and 24 V systems — the 6–24 VDC supply range covers the control voltages found across heavy equipment parts from different manufacturers, so one part number stays on the shelf instead of two.
- Colour-coded shielded lead — black, white, orange, brown, blue and shield conductors are already identified, so an electrician can land the encoder on an existing terminal block without buzzing out the cable first.
- Built as a straight swap — the shaft and cable come factory-fitted to a self-contained cylindrical body, so a failed unit is replaced rather than rebuilt. Keep one beside your other crane parts and a machine can be running again on the next shift.
Connection & Commissioning
- Isolate the machine and lock off the electrical supply before you touch the encoder or its lead.
- Photograph the original unit and note its terminal positions, then remove it and compare the label, shaft and lead against the replacement.
- Land the six conductors as marked: black to output A, white to output B, orange to output Z, brown to +V, blue to 0 V, and the shield to frame ground.
- Check the supply at the panel before re-energising — the encoder accepts 6–24 VDC, so confirm that your circuit falls inside that range.
- Power up and confirm the controller reads movement and direction correctly. If the count runs backwards, swap the A and B conductors at the terminal block.
- Refit the covers and cable gland, then log the fitting date and machine hours for your maintenance record.
Technical Support & Model Matching
Not sure which part fits your machine? Send us the OEM part number, the machine model, and a photo or drawing, and we will help you match the correct item. We supply crane and construction machinery spares across Cummins, SANY, Caterpillar and FUWA applications, covering solenoid valves and coils, angle sensors, wiring harnesses, couplings and load moment indicators. We also assist with fitting questions, wiring checks and fault tracing, and can produce custom parts to your drawings when a standard item is not the right answer.
